The Roaring Twenty's gave us the Charlston. It's cute, it's campy, and most of all it's FUN! There are many variations of this dance.
The Thirty's (a.k.a. The Depression) gave us the Lindy Hop. Yes, it's the dance featured in Swing Kids, and the gap's "Khakis Swing!" commercial. The eight beat of this dance by far makes it the hardest. But, once you get the hang of it, you'll agree that nothing tops the Lindy Hop!
The Forties's (a.k.a The War Years) gave us not just bad relations with Germany and Japan but the Jitterbug. Ahh, can't you just hear Benny Goodman playing that licorice stick! I have to admit that West and East Coast Swing and the Jitterbug don't look all that different. Although with the Jitterbug some of the fun variations are the double and triple step.
